Consumers Warned Not To Buy Supplements Containing DMAA As Ingredient
The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to buy any dietary supplements which contain dimethylamylamine, or DMAA as an ingredient.
DMAA is most commonly found among supplements promoted for muscle-building and lossing weght. However, it can also increase blood pressure, and may cause shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat and heart attacks, this according to the FDA.
A letter was sent to 11 companies by the FDA last years requesting them to stop making and selling products containing DMAA. Ten of the companies complied with the request.
USPlabs is the company which did not comply with the FDA’s request. They continue making supplements containing DMAA in their Oxy Elite Pro and Jack3D. However, the FDA made it perfectly clear that DMAA is an illegal ingredient.
